On 23 September, SDG Advocate Co-chair and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg visited the Intermediate School 318 (IS 318) with world chess champion Magnus Carlsen.

During their visit to the Brooklyn school, which is widely renowned for its chess program, Solberg praised IS318’s impressive work both within and outside school hours and that extracurricular activities such as the chess club promotes unity among diverse students as well as good academic results.

Through this event, PM Solberg and Carlsen also helped raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals to schoolchildren, especially highlighting the importance of achieving SDG 4 on quality education.
