Press Briefing
Forum to Examine Early Efforts to Implement Sustainable Development Agenda
11 July, 12:30 p.m.
UN Headquarters, New York, S-237

For the first time since last year’s historic adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals, countries will meet in New York at UN Headquarters from 11-20 July at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, to review progress made in the achievement of the Goals.

The 2016 High-level Political Forum, with the theme “Ensuring that no one is left behind,” will see 22 countries — developed and developing— presenting an overview of their plans to achieve the Goals during the ministerial segment on 18-20 July. The Forum is expected to provide political leadership, guidance and recommendations on the Agenda’s implementation and follow-up, as well as address new and emerging issues.
