The United Nations offers support to staff members as they near retirement or are planning to leave the United Nations. For those staff members at the end of their UN career, we offer a comprehensive online Pre-Retirement Programme that covers the following topics: Separation Procedures, Repatriation Shipment, Association of Former Civil Servants (AFICS), UNJSPF, Insurance, Taxation, Immigration and Psychosocial Aspects. You can access the new online programme by clicking here. You may create an account by registering with your UN email address.

For more information, e-mail pre-retirement-programme@un.org.

Staff members can reach out to the Staff Counsellor's Office for support during this transitional time. Short-term counselling is available to help sort out professional and personal issues. Under circumstances where direct assistance cannot be provided, referrals will be made by the Staff Counsellor's office to appropriate sources of assistance. This service is available to all UN system staff and is carried out in strict confidentiality.

For more information, contact the Staff Counsellor's office at (212) 963-7044
