Civil
Society/Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) has been playing
a significant role in cooperation with the United Nations
and donor agencies in the field of social and economic development
of Least Developed Countries. The contribution of NGOs to
the global efforts of challenging the social and economic
problems that developing nations face to is immense. The recent
growth of NGOs in quantity and quality proves it.
The number of NGOs in development assistance field particularly
focusing on Least Developing Countries are numerous. The professional
fields they specialize are Health, Education, Agriculture,
Fishery, Desertification, just to name a few. In cooperation
with donor agencies like the United Nations, NGOs are actively
engaged in promotion of social development and empowerment
of people in need.
