At its 39th and 46th plenary meetings, on 22 and 30 July 1993, the Council took note of the oral report on strengthening international cooperation and coordination of efforts to study, mitigate and minimize the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, made on behalf of the Secretary-General, at the 39th plenary meeting, on 22 July 1993, by the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, and of the proposals contained therein for future action on the issue, and decided to keep the matter under review. 1
