The Secretary-General is pleased to announce the following job opening at the level of Under-Secretary-General:

Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services, Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS)

In accordance with General Assembly resolution 48/218B, the Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services shall be appointed by the Secretary-General, following consultations with Member States, and approved by the General Assembly, with due regard for geographic rotation for one fixed term of five years without possibility of renewal.

The Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services is accountable to the Secretary-General, but exercises operational independence as provided for in section A of General Assembly resolution 48/218 B of 29 July 1994 and General Assembly resolution 54/244 of 23 December 1999.
