The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, welcome the peaceful conduct of the partial re-run for the elections of President of Comoros and Governor of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan. They congratulate the people of Comoros for participating peacefully in the election and in the subsequent partial re-run, which was observed by an African Union Election Observer Mission.
The Secretary-General and the Chairperson commend the relevant national institutions for the orderly organization of the partial re-run. The same national institutions now have a vital role to ensure that the final results are a true reflection of the will of the people of Comoros.
The Secretary-General and the Chairperson encourage the Constitutional Court to release the final results in a transparent and timely manner. In the meantime, they call on all candidates to exercise restraint and show a sense of responsibility, as well as to work towards the interest of the people of Comoros and to maintain stability. The Secretary-General and the Chairperson also underline the responsibility of the government to ensure a peaceful conclusion of the electoral process.

Le Secrétaire Général de l’Organisation des Nations Unies, Ban Ki-Moon, et la Présidente de la Commission de l’Union Africaine, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, se réjouissent de la conduite pacifique de la reprise partielle des élections du Président de l’Union des Comores et du Gouverneur de l’Ile Autonome d’Anjouan. Le Secrétaire Général et la Présidente de la Commission encouragent la Cour constitutionnelle à publier les résultats définitifs d'une manière transparente et en temps opportun. En attendant, ils appellent les candidats à faire preuve de retenue et de responsabilité, et à oeuvrer dans l'intérêt du peuple des Comores et de la stabilité. Le Secrétaire Général et la Présidente de la Commission soulignent également la responsabilité du gouvernement d'assurer une conclusion pacifique du processus.
