Statement Attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General on Terrorist Attack in Volgograd, Russian Federation

The Secretary-General condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist bombing today at a train station in Volgograd, Russian Federation, which has reportedly killed at least 16 people and injured many others.  He extends his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims as well as to the Government and people of the Russian Federation.  The Secretary-General calls for the perpetrators of this heinous act to be brought to justice. He stands in solidarity with the Russian Federation in the face of terrorism.
