The Secretary-General learned with sadness of the passing of Brigadier General Yaye Garba, Deputy Force Commander of the African-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA), which occurred on Saturday, 11 May 2013, in Bamako, Mali.

The Secretary-General offers his sincerest condolences and sympathy to his family, and to the people and the Government of Niger.

Le Secrétaire général a appris avec tristesse le décès du Général de brigade Yaye Garba, commandant adjoint des forces de la Mission internationale de soutien au Mali sous conduite africaine (MISMA), samedi 11 mai 2013 à Bamako au Mali.

Le Secrétaire général présente ses condoléances les plus sincères et sa sympathie à la famille du défunt, ainsi qu’au peuple et au gouvernement du Niger.
