The Secretary-General is saddened by the death of H. E. Mr. Bingu wa Mutharika, President of the Republic of Malawi. He offers his condolences to the bereaved family, the Government and the people of Malawi.
 
The Secretary-General welcomes the peaceful transition in Malawi.  He looks forward to working with the Government under acting President Joyce Banda.

Le Secrétaire général est attristé par la mort de M. Bingu wa Mutharika, Président de la République du Malawi. Il présente ses condoléances à la famille endeuillée, au gouvernement et au peuple du Malawi.
 
Le Secrétaire général salue la transition pacifique du pouvoir au Malawi. Il se réjouit de travailler avec le gouvernement sous la direction du Président par intérim Joyce Banda.
