New York, 11 October 2011 - Statement Attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General on the 9 October 2011 presidential election in Cameroon [scroll down for French version]
The Secretary-General welcomes the peaceful manner in which the presidential election took place on 9 October 2011 in Cameroon and hopes this environment will prevail through to the conclusion of the electoral process. He appeals to political actors to use established legal channels to resolve electoral disputes and calls on the authorities to ensure that all claims related to the process are handled in an expeditious and transparent manner.

Déclaration attribuable au Porte-parole du Secrétaire général sur l'élection présidentielle du 9 octobre 2011 au Cameroun
Le Secrétaire général se réjouit de la tenue pacifique de l'élection présidentielle du 9 octobre 2011 au Cameroun et espère que cette atmosphère paisible prévaudra jusqu'à la conclusion du processus électoral. Il exhorte les acteurs politiques à utiliser les voies légales en vigueur pour résoudre les différends électoraux et lance un appel aux autorités pour qu'elles garantissent que tout contentieux relatif au processus soit traité de manière diligente et transparente.
