Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with
H.E. Mr. Hery Martial Rajaonarimampianina Rakotoarimanana,
President of the Republic of Madagascar

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Hery Martial Rajaonarimampianina Rakotoarimanana, President of the Republic of Madagascar.

They discussed the political situation in the country and insecurity challenges, in particular in the South of the country. They also discussed the UN support to Madagascar, including the UN Peacebuilding Funds, and the impact of climate change in the country. The Secretary-General and the President further agreed on the critical importance of taking forward the Sustainable Development Goals.
