Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. José Maria Pereira Neves, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cabo Verde

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. José Maria Pereira Neves, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cabo Verde.

They discussed Cabo Verde’s achievements in meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), cooperating on attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and tackling the critical challenge of climate change, in particular, focusing on renewal energy and water resources. 

The Secretary-General thanked Prime Minister Neves for his country’s support for United Nations efforts to “Deliver as One” in Cabo Verde and for continuing to host the first joint UN office.
