The Secretary-General met today His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait.

The Secretary-General thanked Kuwait for its generous support to the United Nations and its humanitarian effort in Iraq. He was grateful for Kuwait’s hosting of the International Humanitarian Pledging Conferences for Syria and for the country’s generous contributions to the people of Syria.

The Secretary-General reassured Kuwait of the United Nations’ commitment to fulfilling the Security Council’s mandate on missing Kuwaiti persons and properties.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister also discussed the situation in Libya and Yemen as well as issues related to climate change.
