Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with Fredrik Reinfeldt, Prime Minister of Sweden

The Secretary-General had a working lunch today with H.E. Mr. Fredrik Reinfeldt, Prime Minister of Sweden. The Secretary-General thanked Sweden for its unwavering support to the UN and its contributions to advance global peace, development and human rights.
The Secretary-General congratulated Sweden for hosting the Global Forum on Migration and Development. He also expressed his appreciation for the country's leadership role in Europe in opening its doors to significant numbers of Syrian refugees.
The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the importance of accelerating the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and crafting a comprehensive post-2015 Development Agenda. The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Sweden’s active role in this regard. They also agreed on the urgent need to effectively tackle climate change.
The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister also exchanged views on the situations in Ukraine, Syria, South Sudan, Mali, Libya and the Central African Republic.
