The Secretary-General met today in Paris with the President of Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, on the margins of the Elysee Summit for Peace and Security in Africa.

They discussed the situation in Mali, in particular the situation in the north of the country.

They also discussed the cooperation between Mali and the UN Mission, MINUSMA.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed the importance of national reconciliation and reiterated the total solidarity of the United Nations with the people and Government of Mali.
