The Secretary-General met today with Mr. Enrique Garcia, President of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF).  He acknowledged CAF's contribution to sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean through its credit operations, grants and assistance to both public and private projects. He encouraged CAF to engage in the post-2015 development agenda and support together with other regional development banks the efforts of Member States to mobilize resources to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and shape the post-2015 development agenda. He also welcomed the President’s first visit to the General Assembly and encouraged him to work closely with the United Nations development system.
