The Secretary-General met today with Mohamed Kamel Ali Amr, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s role in supporting the ceasefire in Gaza and for its continued support to stabilize the situation in Somalia. 
The Secretary-General said that he was closely following events in Egypt.  He underscored the importance of listening to all voices, including civil society, and for Egyptians to constructively engage with one another. 
They exchanged views on regional issues, including the Middle East Peace Process.
