Note to Correspondents on the talks between Greece and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

New York, 14 November 2012

Ambassador Matthew Nimetz, the Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for the talks between Greece and former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, has invited the Representatives of both Parties, Ambassador Adamantios Vassilakis of Greece and Ambassador Zoran Jolevski of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, to meet with him at United Nations Headquarters on November 19 and 20, and both sides have accepted the invitation.

Personal Envoy Nimetz will meet with the Representatives both separately and in a joint meeting to assess the status of the discussions and to make progress towards finding a mutually acceptable solution to the “name” issue.
