The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Dhoinine Ikililou, President of the Union of the Comoros.

They discussed peacebuilding efforts in the Comoros and humanitarian recovery in the aftermath of the April 2012 flood.  The President expressed his appreciation for the assistance his country received from the United Nations for humanitarian recovery.  The Secretary-General said that development in Africa continued to be his priority. The Secretary-General thanked the President for explaining his country's efforts to fight corruption and improve the socio-economic situation in Comoros.
