Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with EU, Arab League and OIC leaders

The Secretary-General met today with the following group of leaders: H.E. Ms. Catherine Ashton, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy; H.E. Mr. Nabil Elaraby, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and H.E. Mr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The focus of the meeting was Syria and the way forward in implementing the General Assembly Resolution including the appointment of a Special Envoy. They also discussed the humanitarian crisis in Syria and the planned mission of the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Valerie Amos, to the country.
