The Secretary-General met with the President of the Swiss Confederation, H.E. Ms. Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf. During their meeting, they discussed the Millennium Development Goals and Rio+20.

They also discussed the situation in the Middle East, Cyprus, and Georgia as well as Switzerland's experience in international mediation.

The Secretary-General thanked President Widmer-Schlumpf for the Swiss government's strong and constant support for the United Nations' facilities in Geneva.
