The Secretary-General met today, 26 September 2011, with H.E. Mr. Eamon Gilmore, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland.

They discussed a range of issues including Ireland's generous contributions in the fields of sustainable development and UN peacekeeping. They also exchanged views on recent developments in the Middle East peace process, Libya, and Syria, as well as on the global economic situation.
