The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Raila Odinga, EGH, MP, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya. They exchanged views on the situation in the Horn of Africa including piracy and in the humanitarian crisis in Somalia. They also discussed the implementation of the new Constitution and preparations for the 2012 general elections in Kenya. The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations readiness to continue supporting the Kenyan authorities in the implementation of the reform agenda and preparations for 2012 general elections.
