Readout of Secretary-General's Meeting with H.E. Nikoloz Gilauri, Prime Minister of Georgia

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Nikoloz Gilauri, the Prime Minister of Georgia, on the margins of the Fourth United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the LDC Conference with emphasis on the importance of transparency and accountability in developing countries. The Secretary-General commended Georgia's willingness to share best practices from its own anti-corruption efforts with Least Developed Countries and other developing nations.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister also exchanged views on the Geneva Discussions.
