Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with the Foreign Minister of Lebanon

The Secretary-General met this morning in Doha with the Foreign Minister of Lebanon, Dr. Adnan Mansoor. They both condemned in strong terms this week's attack on peacekeepers from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The Secretary-General urged the Foreign Minister to launch a thorough investigation into this attack without delay and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Secretary-General thanked the Government for fulfilling its obligations regarding the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL). He noted that this sent a strong message in support of justice and accountability in the country.
