Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with the Finance Minister of Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh, 15 November 2011

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Finance Minister of Bangladesh.

They discussed the global economic situation, as well as Bangladesh's efforts to sustain economic growth and to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In particular, they discussed efforts to reduce child and maternal mortality.

They also discussed the importance of ensuring a global effort building on the MDGs after 2015.
