Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with Prime Minister of Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh, 15 November 2011

The Secretary-General met yesterday with H.E. Sheikh Hasina Wajed, Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

He stated his appreciation for Bangladesh's positive contribution and active role in the areas of women''s and children''s health, disaster risk reduction, sustainable development and peacekeeping.

They exchanged views on the situation in Bangladesh ahead of elections in 2014, as well as on social, economic and development issues.
