Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with the President of Rwanda

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 30 January 2011

The Secretary-General met today with H. E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Secretary-General welcomed the collaboration between neighbouring states to bring an end to violence in the region.

The Secretary-General and the President also discussed and agreed on the need for effective measures to bring an end to gender-based violence in conflict situations.
