Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with the Quartet Representative to the Middle East

Davos, Switzerland, 27 January 2011

The Secretary-General met today in Davos with Tony Blair, Quartet Representative to the Middle East. They discussed the state of play of the Middle East peace process and the situation in Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Secretary-General stressed the importance of continuing efforts to ease suffering in Gaza and help PA build capacity in the West Bank, and thanked Tony Blair for his role. They reaffirmed their commitment to work hard with other partners toward the forthcoming Quartet meeting in Munich on 5 February.
