Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 918 (1994) concerning Rwanda


The Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 918 (1994) concerning Rwanda was established on 17 May 1994 to oversee the arms embargo and to undertake the tasks set out by the Security Council in paragraph 14 of the same resolution.

The complete arms embargo on Rwanda imposed by resolution 918 (1994) terminated on 1 September 1996, in accordance with paragraph 8 of resolution 1011 (1995).

By its resolution 1823 (2008), the Security Council decided to terminate the remaining measures, contained in paragraphs 9 and 10 of resolution 1011 (1995), and to dissolve the Committee established pursuant to resolution 918 (1994) concerning Rwanda.
