TI.Z.152.11. SANGEEN ZADRAN SHER MOHAMMAD
Sangeen Zadran Sher Mohammad was listed on 16 August 2011 pursuant to paragraph 3 of resolution 1988 (2011) for “participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing, or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, under the name of, on behalf of, or in support of those designated and other individuals, groups, undertakings and entities associated with the Taliban in constituting a threat to the peace, stability and security of Afghanistan”.
Sangeen Zadran Sher Mohammad is an insurgency leader in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, and a commander of the Haqqani Network (TE.H.12.12). The Haqqani Network, a Taliban-affiliated group of militants that operates in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan, has been at the forefront of insurgent activity in Afghanistan, responsible for many high-profile attacks. Zadran acts as a senior lieutenant to Haqqani Network leader Sirajuddin Haqqani (TI.H.144.07)
Sangeen Zadran Sher Mohammad helps lead fighters in attacks across southeastern Afghanistan, and is believed to have planned and coordinated the movement of foreign fighters into Afghanistan. Sangeen Zadran Sher Mohammad has also been involved in numerous attacks by improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
In addition to his role in these attacks, Sangeen Zadran Sher Mohammad has also been involved in the kidnapping of Afghans and foreign nationals in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
