Joko Pitono was listed on 16 May 2005 pursuant to paragraphs 1 and 16 of resolution 1526 (2004) as being associated with Al-Qaida, Usama bin Laden or the Taliban for “participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, under the name of, on behalf, or in support of”, “supplying, selling or transferring arms and related materiel to” or “otherwise supporting acts or activities of” Jemaah Islamiyah (QE.J.92.02).

Joko Pitono, a.k.a. Dulmatin, is a senior operative of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) (QE.J.92.02). He has attended an Al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan.
Pitono is an electronics expert and bomb-maker for JI. He is associated with many JI operatives, including Azahari Husin (QI.H.113.03).
Pitono was involved in making bombs for the 24 December 2000 attacks on churches in Indonesia perpetrated by JI, which killed 19 people and injured approximately 120. He also was involved in JI’s August 2000 bombing of the Philippine ambassador's house in Jakarta, which killed two people and seriously injured the Philippine ambassador himself. Pitono has also been linked to the bombings in Bali in October 2002. Prior to these attacks, which killed 202 people from over 20 countries, a planning meeting was held at Pitono's house in Solo, Indonesia. Pitono is also linked to the J.W. Marriott hotel bombing conducted by JI in August 2003, which killed 12 people.
Pitono continued his activities as at 2008.
