Abd-al-Majid Aziz al-Zindani was listed on 27 February 2004 paragraphs 1 and 16  of resolution 1526 (2004) as being associated with Al-Qaida, Usama bin Laden or the Taliban for “participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, under the name of, on behalf, or in support of”, “supplying, selling, transferring arms and related materiel to”,  “recruiting for” or “otherwise supporting acts or activities of” Al-Qaida (QE.A.4.01), Usama bin Laden and Ansar al-Islam (QE.A.98.03).

Additional information:

Abd-al-Majid Aziz al-Zindani has provided direct support for terrorism, including support for listed individuals and entities including Al-Qaida (QE.A.4.01).

Al-Zindani has a long history of working with Usama bin Laden (deceased). He has also been an advisor to Usama bin Laden. He has actively recruited for Al-Qaida’s training camps. He also played a key role in the purchase of weapons on behalf of Al-Qaida.

Al-Zindani has also served as a contact for the Kurdish-based group, Ansar al-Islam (QE.A.98.03).
