Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1132 (1997)concerning Sierra Leone


The Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1132 (1997) concerning Sierra Leone was established on 8 October 1997 to oversee the relevant sanctions measures and to undertake the tasks set out by the Security Council in paragraph 10 of the same resolution.

The sanctions regime and the mandate of the Committee were modified by subsequent resolutions.

By its resolution 1940 (2010), the Security Council decided on 29 September 2010 to terminate the measures set forth in paragraphs 2, 4 and 5 of resolution 1171 (1998) and to dissolve the Committee established pursuant to resolution 1132 (1997) concerning Sierra Leone.
