        Respect for human rights is a new idea for Haitian journalists. MICIVIH organized a 'Human Rights and the Press' conference in Port-au-Prince for journalists to better understand their role and responsibility in the area of human rights. Topics range from investigative techniques of human rights observers to the role of the judicial system. This programme is used as a tool to help train journalists.
