The Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Abdoulie Janneh devoted most of the first week of May to visiting staff in their offices to see for himself the work taking place on a daily basis and the challenges facing staff members.
While speaking to staff of the Economic Development and NEPAD Division, Mr. Janneh congratulated them for hitting the ground running and producing several outputs even though the division was only established recently.
“The President of Malawi was very happy with the theme and concept note you produced for our recently concluded conference of ministers,” the Executive Secretary told staff.
Mr. Janneh has assured all staff that he is committed to continuous dialogue and will continue to make regular and sometimes surprise visits to offices.
During the visits, discussions are taking place on a wide range of issues ranging from programmatic, to staffing to social affairs.
