- Focal point for the U.N. International Conference on Population
and Development (ICPD), Cairo, 1994 and follow-up activities.
- Member of the U.N. Commission on Population and Development from
the year 1997 - 2000.
- Technical support for developing countries through TCDC programmes
in the areas of data collection, processing and analysis; development of
plan of action and monitoring and evaluation of population programmes.
- Focal point for Asia Pacific Population Information Network (POPIN).
FAMILY DEVELOPMENT
- Focal point for the U.N. International Year of The Family, 1994
and follow-up activities.
- Vice-president of the International Board of Directors, International
Family Policy Forum, Montreal, Canada.
- Technical support for developing countries through TCDC programmes
in the areas of family development and parenting. This includes the development
of modular training and educational packages, training of master trainers
and development of plans of actions.
REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
- Participation in various consultancy meetings organised by WHO,
UNFPA, and UNICEF on the concept, scope, policy and framework for implementation
of reproductive health programme.
- Member of the WHO Policy and Coordination Committe (special programme
of research, development and research training in human reproduction) in
an observer capacity.
- Technical support for developing countries through TCDC programmes
in the areas of family planning, infertility, development of reproductive
health programmes and training of master trainers.
