UNFPA Country Support Team for the South Pacific

Dec 1999

The Turner Foundation

The Turner Foundation has donated US$2.34 million to UNFPA to promote regional adolescent reproductive health in the South Pacific. The project aims to assist countries to develop initiatives which will provide a comprehensive range of reproductive and sexual health information and services to the adolescents and youths of the Pacific.

The project will set up information and counselling services in selected countries to enable young people to have access to quality information on sexual and reproductive health issues in a confidential and safe manner. In addition to activities for young people, the project will include activities with religious organisations to establish a church-based family life education programme.
