During the months of January to April, the UNFPA Suva Office, with the technical assistance of CST Advisers, initiated a series of indepth sectorial reviews on the core programme areas in selected Pacific island countries. This initiative is aimed at helping countries identify priority national population concerns and to consult on national strategies in the light of ICPD Programme of Action and UNFPA's programme priorities.
These comprehensive sectorial reviews will contribute to the Programme Review and Strategy Development exercise for the South Pacific to be undertaken by UNFPA in late 1996.
