Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)

CSW prepares recommendations and reports
to ECOSOC on promoting women's rights in political, economic, civil,
social and educational fields. It aims to promote implementation
of the principle that men and women shall have equal rights. Following
the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women, CSW was mandated to regularly
reviewing areas of concern in the Platform for Action. |

Aims to ensure the participation of women as equal partners with
men in all aspects of human endeavour. A catalyst for advancing
the global agenda on women's issues. Conducts research and develops
policy options. Aims to strengthen communication between national
and international policy-making and the women of the world. Supports
the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and other
