Meeting with the President of the Czech Republic

The President of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajèák, met today with the President of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Miloš Zeman.

They discussed the role of the United Nations in the fight against terrorism, including through the recently established United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.

They also spoke about the forthcoming Czech presidency of  the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2018 and the possibilities of cooperation between ECOSOC and the General Assembly in advancing the priorities of the General Assembly’s 72nd session.
