Working-Level Dialogue on Water: Improving the integration and coordination of the work of the United Nations on the water-related goals and targets under its sustainable development pillar, with particular emphasis on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

 

United Nations, New York, 21 March 2017 The President of the U.N. General Assembly, H.E. Peter Thomson, will convene a Working-Level Dialogue on Water on 22 March 2017, which is also the commemoration of World Water Day.

Pursuant to paragraph 12 of General Assembly resolution 71/222, of 22 December 2016, entitled “International Decade for Action: Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028”, the Working-Level Dialogue will discuss improving the integration and coordination of the work of the United Nations on the water-related goals and targets under its sustainable development pillar.

The Dialogue was prepared in collaboration with the Co-Moderators of Dialogue, H.E. Ms. Katalin Bogyay, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Hungary and Mr. Lukmon Isomatov, Head of the Department of External Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

The Dialogue will take place on Wednesday, 22 March in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, with the participation of the President of the General Assembly, the Co-Moderators of the Dialogue, distinguished speakers and relevant stakeholders.
