Statement of the President of the UN General Assembly on Colombia

UNITED NATIONS, New York, 1 December 2016 – The President of the United Nations General Assembly warmly welcomes the ratification by Colombia’s Congress of the revised peace agreement reached last week between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People´s Army (FARC-EP).
The President of the General Assembly wishes to commend the efforts made by all parties who participated constructively in the dialogue that resulted in this new agreement, and reiterates his pledge of continued support to the Colombian peace process.
