NEW YORK, 4 May 2016 – The President of the UN General Assembly H.E. Mogens Lykketoft is travelling to Washington DC on Wednesday and Thursday (4-5 May) to participate in Climate Action 2016 and to meet representatives from Government, think tanks and civil society.

On Wednesday, the President will meet key American stakeholders to discuss the global changing landscape after the adoption of the SDGs and the signing of the Climate Agreement.

On Thursday morning the President will participate and speak at Climate Action 2016 and have several bilateral meetings.  He will meet the International Association of Public Transport and American Red Cross.

On Thursday afternoon Mr. Lykketoft will attend a private Roundtable at the Atlantic Council.

The President is travelling with Chef de Cabinet Tomas Anker Christensen, Senior Adviser Tracy Raczek and Special Media Adviser Ulla Oestergaard.  The trip is paid for from the Office of the President’s Trust Fund.
