The President of the General Assembly met with representatives of the women’s organizations Equality Now, Karama and Libyan Women’s Platform for Peace. The delegation drew the President’s attention to the issue of security and justice for women leaders and human rights defenders across the Arab region. With the President of the General Assembly, they discussed how to push for better implementation of the Security Council Resolution 1325 in their countries to achieve better protection and participation of women in political and peace processes.
