Organizational Committee Members

The PBC Organizational Committee brings together 31 Member States, to establish the work agenda for the PBC, including the establishment of the medium-term calendar for the Commission’s wide-ranging activities, and development of Integrated Peacebuilding Strategies (IPBS). In the enabling resolutions establishing the Peacebuilding Commission, resolutions 60/180 and 1645(2005) of 20 December 2005, the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council decided that members of the Organizational Committee shall serve for renewable terms of two years, as applicable.

Seven members selected by the Security Council
Burkina Faso, China, France, Mexico, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America.
- Seven members elected by the Economic and Social Council
Algeria, El Salvador, Guinea-Bissau, Luxembourg, Morocco, Poland and Republic of Korea.
- Five of the top providers of assessed contributions to United Nations budgets and of voluntary contributions to the United Nations funds, programmes and agencies, including a standing peacebuilding fund
Canada, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Sweden.
- Five top providers of military personnel and civilian police to United Nations missions
Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Nigeria and Pakistan.

Seven members elected by the General Assembly
Benin, Chile, Georgia, Jamaica, South Africa, Thailand and Uruguay.
