Alia Varsano joined the United Nations Office for Partnerships in 2009, as Partnership Advisor, serving as a representative for the United Nations. As Partnership Advisor, Ms. Varsano seeks and develops key partnerships and alliances between the private sector, foundations, philanthropists and the United Nations, in furtherance of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. In addition to identifying and developing new partnership opportunities, Ms.Varsano is also actively engaged in creating solid foundations for these collaborative partnerships by designing programs and projects which meet the common goals and objectives for each unique partnership and foster long term strategic alliances.
Prior to joining the United Nations Office for Partnerships, Ms. Varsano worked extensively in the private sector, in the legal and business development fields. She served as a Worldwide Director for Phillips de Pury & Company, where she spearheaded the creation of a unique collecting category within the auction space, and as Vice President of Business Development for Yorkshire Global Restaurants, where the scope of her responsibilities spanned the legal, operations and marketing departments. Ms. Varsano is also an alumna of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Ms. Varsano holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and named Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, in recognition of superior academic achievement.
