Lucie Hrbkova

Chief of Office

Ms. Lucie Hrbkova advises and assists the Executive Director in managing partnerships between the United Nations, the UN Foundation, and the private sector, and in overseeing the activities of the UN Democracy Fund. In guiding the development of high impact public-private partnerships in support of the Millennium Development Goals, Lucie contributes to the creation of numerous strategic alliances with corporations, foundations and philanthropists. Lucie manages the day-to-day activities of the office and is the focal point for public affairs and external relations.

Prior to joining UN Office for Partnerships, she worked as a Deputy Representative at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in New York focusing on the issues of human trafficking, corruption and cybercrime. At UNODC, Lucie arranged conferences and exhibitions on human trafficking and violence against women, represented UNODC at major High-Level Meetings on issues as broad as Afghanistan and the Rule of Law, and managed the operations of the New York Liaison Office. Her work at UNODC also included lobbying members of the General Assembly on human trafficking, leading resolution negotiations, defending UNODC's budget and positions, and building partnerships to support UNODC's work. Lucie also worked for UNODC in various capacities at the UNODC Headquarters in Vienna, where she managed a portfolio of projects focused on Central and Eastern Europe, and at the Regional Office for the Caribbean in Bridgetown, where she designed and implemented rehabilitation projects at correctional facilities.

Before joining the United Nations, Lucie held the position of Project Officer at the Danish Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic.

Lucie, a Czech national, holds a Master degree in Political Science and an MBA from the University of Economics in Prague.
