Guillermo Lizarzaburu
Finance Officer

Mr. Lizarzaburu initially joined the United Nations in August 1984 but left in November 1997 for private sector, where he stayed until May 2001.

In June 2001, Mr. Lizarzaburu decided to return to the United Nations. Over the course of 21 years at the UN, he worked in the Security and Safety Service, OPPBA/Accounts Division, and was assigned to 7 peacekeeping missions, predominantly in finance.

In October 2007, Mr. Lizarzaburu joined UNFIP as Finance Officer, responsible for accurately tracking, maintaining and enhancing effective monitoring and evaluation on all projects established by UNFIP; ensuring broad dissemination of and compliance with UNFIP policies, identifying needed changes to enhance management of UNFIP operations; and verifying the completeness of the Finance Tracking Database, i.e., dates, amounts, project numbers, and fully reconcile UNFIP records to the database of UNF and Accounts Division (IMIS), respectively.

Mr. Lizarzaburu holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Mercy College and a Masters' Degree on International Business/Finance from Long Island University.
